Getting an away win in the Nigeria Premier League is no mean feat but getting two wins in five away matches is almost a monumental achievement. That is the story of Dolphin FC of Port Harcourt. They recorded their second away win of the season, their first since the opening round of fixtures, by beating Crown FC in Ogbomosho. This win coupled with Sunshine Stars’ loss at Kaduna Utd shot them two points clear of sunshine on the top of the log.
As was the case in weeks seven and eight, only nine matches, instead of ten, went ahead this weekend, 1st and 2nd January, 2011. The match between JUTH FC and Kano Pillars was called off due to the Christmas eve bomb blast in the city of Jos.
The biggest winners of the weekend were Warri Wolves who beat Zamfara Utd by three goals to nothing. In this round of fixtures, just one away win, six home wins and two scoreless draws were recorded. A total of 12 goals were scored in this round of fixtures.
