NCC Gives June 30 Deadline For SIM Registration Plus How To Confirm Your SIM Reg Status On all Networks

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced that all SIM Cards must be registered by Sunday June 30, 2013. All unregistered SIMs or those with incomplete information by that date will be disconnected.

To this end, all subscribers who have not registered their SIM cards are being advised to do so and those who have registered are advised to confirm their registration.

How To Confirm Your Sim Registration On the Various Mobile Networks:

  1. MTN Subscribers:To confirm your registration status, please send an SMS with the word SIMREG to verification short code:746. You can also visit the nearest MTN centre/registration point to crosscheck the information against your name. MTN added that "As part of an on-going verification exercise, you may receive an SMS from 799 asking you to confirm some information. Please ensure that you reply the SMS as soon as you can to complete your registration."
I once received this message from 799 to complete my registration and was given a bonus of N400 in return. That was sweet!

2. Airtel Subscribers: To confirm registration status, please dial *405#

3. Glo Subscribers: Send REG to 3456 as a message and you should get an instant reply by SMS.

4. Etisalat Subscribers: As at the time of publishing this post, etisalat doesn't have a USSD code or an SMS code for SIM confirmation. You simply have to call their customer care on 200 or send a mail to care@etisalat.com.ng

I hope this info helps.
