A BRIEF ANALYSIS OF WEEK SIX RESULTS IN THE 2010/2011 NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE

On the weekend they lost one of their players, Emmanuel Ogoli to death on his way to the hospital after slumping on the field of play, Ocean Boys helped themselves out of the bottom of the log with their first victory of the campaign, a two-nil win over Niger Tornadoes.
After week six, both Plateau Clubs – JUTH FC and Plateau Utd – are rock bottom of the premier league table with 4 points each. Sunshine Stars and Dolphin FC are joint leaders with 12 points each, a point clear of erstwhile league leaders, Warri Wolves.
A total of 23 goals were scored this weekend. The only two unbeaten sides in the premier league before the last round of fixtures – Warri Wolves and Sharks FC – both lost their respective matches over the weekend. Only Kwara Utd won away from home beating JUTH FC two-nil, it was JUTH’s second home loss of the campaign. They are the only side yet to record a win this season.
