A BRIEF ANALYSIS OF WEEK THREE RESULTS IN THE 2010/2011 NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE

Sunshine Stars followed the footsteps of Dolphin FC in week one by picking an away win at Plateau Utd. Plateau Utd, therefore, have yet to register neither a goal nor a point at home this season having gifted the three-week old league its two away wins so far. In a similar vein, Bukola Babes will have to wait for another round of matches before getting the chance to register their first goal of the campaign.

There was goal rush in Enugu where Rangers and Ocean Boys traded seven goals between one another, 5-2 it ended in favour of the home side.

The league table is now taking shape with Shooting Stars (3SC) and Gombe Utd placed first and second respectively both having 7 points from their first three matches. Interestingly, only 3 points separate the first thirteen teams on the log – it can hardly be tighter. Six teams remain unbeaten so far; they are 3SC, Gombe Utd, Kaduna Utd, Warri Wolves, Sharks, and JUTH FC.
