The BBC African Footballer of the Year Award is growing in popularity year after year. It is the only one of its kind because it allows for the fans to vote their footballer of the year. The nominees for this year 2010 are Asamoah Gyan (Sunderland & Ghana), Andre ‘Dede’ Ayew (Marseille & Ghana), Samuel Eto’o (Inter Milan & Cameroun), Yaya Toure (Manchester City & Ivory Coast) as well as Didier Drogba (Chelsea & Ivory Coast).
